Comfrey leaf has been used for centuries as a topical remedy for bone and joint discomfort. Its long-standing reputation for supporting bones and joints earned it the nickname “knitbone” from Native Americans. Today, it’s a common ingredient in pain-relieving creams, especially those targeting arthritis. Some studies suggest it may be particularly effective for knee and back pain, but can be used on any joint that gives you fits!

HOW TO USE IT: Scoop a "small glop" the size of a pump or two of lotion and massage into the affected area 1-2x daily as needed. Do not use on fresh surgical sites or open wounds; wait for the skin to close before using.

FAQ'S

WHAT IS THE SHELF LIFE? The shelf life of my salves is 1-2 years; however you'll enjoy the most medicinal benefit within the first year.

DOES IT STAIN CLOTHING? Be sure to massage the salve into your skin well, then allow a few minutes for it to absorb. If your clothing stains, consider using a little bit less or allow it to absorb longer before dressing.

"Comfrey has a centuries-old tradition as a medicinal plant. Today, multiple randomized controlled trials have demonstrated the efficacy and safety of comfrey preparations for the topical treatment of pain, inflammation and swelling of muscles and joints in degenerative arthritis, acute myalgia in the back, sprains, contusions and strains after sports injuries and accidents, also in children aged 3 or 4 and over. This paper provides information on clinical trials and non-interventional studies published on comfrey to date and further literature, substantiating the fact that topical comfrey preparations are a valuable therapy option for the treatment of painful muscle and joint complaints."
